Choose to Believe

I remember when I first chose this subject I was in the midst of choosing to believe what I knew about the gospel.  I knew what I wanted to do but I feared most of what I understood.  With help of others (Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, family and friends), General Conference talks, the scriptures I was able to choose what path I really wanted to do.   I was beginning to not be so lost and in a dark place.  It really is our choice to follow where we want to.  To be happy, we need to follow Jesus Christ and His teachings.  He can help us in so many ways that we won’t always understand but will be grateful for the direction we choose to go towards.  “There are times when we have to step into the darkness in faith, confident that God will place solid ground beneath our feet once we do” (Dieter F. Uchtdorf, “The Why of Priesthood Service”, Ensign May 2012, 59).

Soott, October 1988 General Conference, "True Friends That Lift"
